In Mr. Rolack’s physics class students are constructing elastic powered aircraft’s. They have to properly build wings, a tail, propellers, and an elastic engine. Rubber bands are being utilized for the engine therefore making the propellers spin, and other items such as tinfoil, bottle caps, and popsicle sticks are being utilized as other parts of their planes. This week the planes will take off and the students will have to calculate the distance and height their plane flew. Stay tuned to see these aircraft’s fly!

WOLVERINES TAKE FLIGHT!
At Woodland High, in Mr. Rolack's Physics course, scholars are working on their "Forces of Flight" project, from Project Lead the Way (PLTW). Wolverines get to design, build, and test their own model gliders. This hands-on activity helps them learn about the key forces of flight—lift, drag, thrust, and weight—by seeing firsthand how different wing shapes and adjustments can impact how the glider flies. It’s a fun and challenging way for them to understand the physics of flight through practical experience. Stay tuned to see how well these Wolverines soar, as they put their gliders to the test!
