Williams Memorial takes the title!

The Dorchester School District Four Youth Basketball season wrapped up this week with an exciting two nights of playoff action on Tuesday and Wednesday. Congratulations to Williams Memorial Elementary and Harleyville Elementary for earning their spots in the finals after strong performances throughout the tournament. In the end, WMES rose to the moment and captured the championship.

More playoff photos are on the way, featuring all three elementary schools.

Williams Memorial Elementary School held its annual National Elementary Honor Society (NEHS) induction ceremony on Thursday evening, March 19. Fifteen fourth- and fifth-grade students were inducted during the program, with Jordan McCarthy serving as the guest speaker.

The National Elementary Honor Society (NEHS) recognizes elementary students for academic excellence and personal responsibility while fostering leadership and service. The program is built on four core pillars: scholarship, responsibility, service, and leadership. NEHS also focuses on building a strong foundation for future success through community involvement, responsibility, and character.

WMES is proud of its newest NEHS inductees.

Last night at the DD4 School Board meeting, the Board approved to make May 29th a full day for students. This is due to school being canceled on March 16 as a result of weather conditions.
