Department of Assessment & Accountability
The Department of Assessment and Accountability at Dorchester School District Four (DD4) is dedicated to ensuring that student learning and district performance are measured accurately, fairly, and transparently. By collecting, analyzing, and reporting data, we provide critical information that drives instructional decisions, supports continuous improvement, and upholds state and federal accountability standards.
Our responsibilities include:
Student Assessments: Coordinating state and district testing programs to measure student progress and mastery of academic standards.
Data Analysis: Interpreting assessment results to identify strengths, close achievement gaps, and guide instructional strategies.
Accountability Reporting: Preparing and submitting required reports to the South Carolina Department of Education and federal agencies to ensure compliance with all regulations.
PowerSchool Coordination: Managing and supporting the district’s PowerSchool system to ensure accurate student information, grade reporting, and data accessibility for schools and families.
Support for Schools: Assisting administrators and teachers in using data to inform instruction, interventions, and school improvement initiatives.
Transparency: Sharing assessment results and accountability data with parents, community members, and stakeholders to maintain trust and promote understanding of student achievement.
Through these efforts, the Department of Assessment and Accountability ensures that data and information systems are used as powerful tools to improve teaching, learning, and outcomes for every student in DD4.
