Curriculum and Instruction

Dorchester School District Four’s Department of Curriculum and Instruction is committed to empowering minds and shaping futures by providing leadership and support that drive academic excellence. Our goal is to work with all schools to develop future-ready learners equipped with the knowledge and skills outlined in the South Carolina Profile of a Graduate.

We are focused on:

  • Curriculum and Instruction: Supporting schools with the implementation of high-quality curriculum and standards-based instruction.

  • Student Achievement: Raising performance levels and closing achievement gaps across all grade levels.

  • Collaboration: Partnering with teams and departments to create learner-centered environments and opportunities.

  • Continuous Improvement: Designing systems and practices that promote growth through data-based decision-making.

  • Innovation: Advancing the educational landscape through best practices, updated programming, and the integration of new technologies.

  • Post-Graduation Readiness: Providing students with the tools and experiences needed to pursue college, careers, military service, or entrepreneurship.

Through these efforts, the Department of Curriculum and Instruction ensures that teaching and learning in DD4 remain rigorous, innovative, and responsive to the needs of every student.
