Facilities & Operations

The Facilities and Operations Department of Dorchester School District Four (DD4) is committed to providing safe, clean, and efficient learning environments that support academic excellence. Our mission is to ensure that every classroom, athletic venue, and school facility is maintained to the highest standard so that students and staff can thrive.

The department oversees the care and maintenance of all district buildings, grounds, and equipment across 336 square miles. This includes routine custodial services, preventative maintenance, repairs, landscaping, and the management of heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems. Facilities and Operations also handles capital improvement projects, renovations, and construction to meet the growing needs of the district.

In addition, the department manages district safety systems, energy efficiency initiatives, and facility use requests. By working closely with school leaders and community partners, Facilities and Operations ensures that district spaces remain welcoming, secure, and functional for instruction, extracurricular programs, and community events.

Every day, our Facilities and Operations team works behind the scenes to create environments where teaching and learning can succeed, making them an essential part of DD4’s mission to serve students and families.
