Red Ribbon Week at Williams Memorial Elementary, Oct. 27–31, with themed dress-up days promoting being drug free.
Williams Memorial Elementary School wrapped up September with another exciting Club Day! Students explored their interests and discovered new passions through a variety of engaging activities.

From building creative designs with Legos and experimenting with robotics to expressing themselves through art, dance, and cooking, every club offered a unique hands-on experience. Students also enjoyed working with computers right in their classrooms, learning new skills and having fun along the way.

And to finish the day on a calm note, one group participated in yoga, a peaceful and unexpected highlight that showed just how diverse and enjoyable Club Day can be at WMES!

We caught up with Mrs. Davis’ 3rd grade class at Williams Memorial Elementary School as they explored the library! With help from Mrs. Davis and school librarian Mrs. Stephenson, students identified books that matched their reading levels and had a chance to browse the shelves for stories that sparked their interest.

As of 1:00 p.m., I-95 southbound at the St. George interchange (mile marker 77) is closed due to a hazardous material spill. Traffic is being rerouted along Highways 15 and 78, which may cause significant delays in our area.

Dear DD4 ​Community,

We continue to closely monitor Tropical Disturbance 94L. Governor McMaster has declared a state of emergency as the system could strengthen into a tropical storm or hurricane approaching the Southeast early next week.

Superintendent Beckwith and our principals are prepared, and we will communicate quickly if school schedules need to be adjusted.

Dorchester County Emergency Management, Dorchester School District Four, and our key stakeholders are closely monitoring Invest 94L (future Imelda), which is currently forecast to become a Tropical Depression near the central and northwest Bahamas in the next few days.

Although details remain uncertain, if impacts do occur, the most likely time frame would be early next week.

Superintendent Beckwith has been in contact with school principals to ensure preparedness in the event school schedules need to be adjusted. Please stay tuned for official updates as forecasts are released.

⚽ Youth Soccer is here in DD4! ⚽

Dorchester School District Four is excited to launch our Elementary Youth Soccer Program this fall for students in grades 1–5.

• Registration is $20 and includes a team shirt and end-of-season trophy
• Teams will be coed and formed at each school
• Practices will be held once a week after school
• Games begin October 21 and run through November 20 at Woodland High School

📅 Registration runs September 15–26. Practice starts the week of September 29.
