Splash Into Safety is back for its 6th summer, offering swim lessons for just $1 per lesson. The goal is simple: remove cost as a barrier and help more children gain basic swim skills and water safety education before the summer months.

Access to swim lessons remains limited in many upper Dorchester communities, making this program an important resource for families.

Dr. Prince Brewington, Principal, Williams Memorial Elementary School

Dr. Brewington is a 16-year educator and lifelong learner with 13 years of classroom experience and four years as Assistant Principal of Instruction in Richland School District One. He holds a Doctorate in Educational Leadership from Charleston Southern University, along with advanced degrees in Music Education and Educational Leadership. Dr. Brewington's guiding belief reflects his approach to leadership: "Together We Grow, the Farther We Go."

Mr. Robert M. Benvin, Principal, Woodland High School

Mr. Benvin brings four years of assistant principal experience at Stratford High School and a strong foundation as a classroom English teacher at Woodland High School. Known for building meaningful community partnerships and leading record-breaking district fundraising efforts, Mr. Benvin is deeply committed to student success and bringing the community into the school family.
