DD4 Board Meeting Celebrates Students, Staff and Community Partners

The Dorchester School District Four Board of Education met last night, and the evening began the way we like best: by celebrating the people who make our district shine.

The Board first honored Mrs. Linda Lewis and the Woodland High School FCCLA for their achievements and dedication this summer. Their hard work during the break set a strong tone for the year ahead.

Next, the Woodland High School JROTC Program was recognized for its commitment to excellence while attending JCLA Camp this summer. Under the direction of Major John Logan, Jr. and Sergeant First Class Kevin Simpson, our cadets represented Woodland High School with pride and discipline.

The Board then named the first Everyday Heroes of the school year, Ms. Nicole Bryant and Mrs. Kimberly Chubb. Both were celebrated for the care and commitment they bring to our students and schools every day.

The Dorchester County Adult Education Program was also recognized, along with Mrs. Renee' Rivers and Mrs. Wramie Spafford, as the program celebrates National Adult Education and Family Literacy Week, September 14-18, 2026. Their work opens doors for adult learners and families throughout our community.

Following the recognitions, Chief Academic Officer Michael White presented district and school data, highlighting our bright spots as well as the areas where we will focus our efforts this year. Each school principal then shared an update on current enrollment, early successes and their direction for the year ahead.
